Whether I paint objects or faces, I’m absorbed by the immediate architectural structure of the being, the bones, if you will. This reading is expressed by the application of organically thick paint, which, in itself, is another architecture. How these various architectures connect and mix, from moment to moment, question what I think I know about the familiar.
